What is the difference between a Deacon and a Pastor?
A Deacon is called to Word and Service Ministry and is able to preach, but does not preside at the sacraments.

A Pastor is called to Word and Sacrament Ministry and while preaching presides at the sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism.
How long will it take for Servant of Christ to call a new Pastor/ Deacon of Children’s Ministry?
We don’t know the exact timeline, but we do know that the Minneapolis Area Synod will begin forwarding candidates names to the Call Committee around June 1st.

Assistant to the Bishop John Hulden to receive candidate names and instructions about the interview process.
