Sunday, Nov. 9 “The Possibility of Joy”
Text: Deuteronomy 26:1-11
Theme: Giving thanks for God’s blessings and how we can be God’s hands and feet in the
world because of people’s gifts to God.
Special Event: Consecration Sunday. We give thanks & consecrate people’s financial commitments
to God through the ministry of SOC

Sunday, Nov. 16 “A Just God”
Text: Zephaniah 1:7, 12-18
Theme: In this day and age the Scriptural truth of Jesus as our friend often leads us to forget
that God is also a just God. Remembering the just nature of God will lead us to a
deeper appreciation of the grace and mercy of God.

Sunday, Nov. 23 “Christ is King not President”
Text: Ephesians 1:15-23
Theme: God placed ALL things under Christ and appointed him to be head of everything

Wednesday, Nov. 26 - Thanksgiving Service at 7pm
Sermon Title: “The Journey from ‘It’s All About Me’ to Thankfulness and Joy”
Text: Philippians 4:10-13
Theme: A truly thankful heart leads us beyond what God might give us in the way of material
blessings. Instead, a thankful heart focuses on what God has accomplished in Jesus
Christ first, thereby helping us to be thankful in all circumstances.

Sunday, Nov. 30 “A Sign of the Times”
Text: Mark 13: 24-37
Theme: This passage speaks explicitly about the “End Times”. We are not to be caught up in
predicting the day or the hour of Christ’s second coming, instead Advent is the time
of the year when we prepare to celebrate Christmas which means preparing for the
coming of Christ into our life each day.
